Allen Iverson retires

It is official one of the NBA's greatest players and scorers ever has retired. Allen Iverson told Stephen A. Smith of ESPN today that he is retiring from the NBA. Forget the unfair ending he had to go through but lets remember this legendary career. He was 6 feet tall but was a beast on the court . Iverson will probably go down as one of the 25 greatest players ever. He accomplished so many great things in the NBA, things that guys like Carmelo and LeBrondream about. It all started in the summer of 1996 when the Philadelphia Sixers drafted the 6 foot Iverson from Georgetown University with the first overall pick.

Iverson's accomplishments.

-1996 Rookie of the year.
- An amazing 24,020 career points, 5,522 career points and 1965 steals.
- Amazing Career averages of 27.1 ppg(5th all-time) and 6.2 apg along with 2.2 spg.
- 30 ppg in the playoffs for his career (2nd all-time next to Michael Jordan).
- 1996 Rookie of the year.
- Three time NBA steals leader.
- Four time NBA scoring champion!.
- 10 time NBA All-star
- Two time NBA All-star game MVP
- 2001 lead one of the least talented teams in league history to the Finals.
- 2001 NBA MVP.

I grew up during the perfect era of hip hop

I remember in my younger years when the radio played only the hot shit. Now if it ain't a mixshow I don't listen. As a kid I spent many afternoons and evenings sitting beside the radio reciting damn near every rap song. I used to look forward to catching Rap City after I got home from school. Do you remember the Street Dreams video? Better yet remember when Hardknock Life Vol.2 dropped. It feels like yesterday when Meth and Mary was on every countdown. Those were the days. Thanks to the creation of the Ipod I can time travel throughout the day. Here is some video clips of that good ol 90's hip hop.

These poor kids now aren't getting exposed to real rappers. All the radio and tv play now is weak rap with no subject matter. A 13 year old can't appreciate an artist like Nas, Black Thought or Common simply because they don't understand it.

The Swag Flu

SWAG is the most overused word. I never understood why all these corny ass people go on and on about how much SWAG they have. From my observation I've noticed that SWAG really isn't a good thing. After listening to different rappers that seem to be the ones with all the SWAG I've come to realize that SWAG includes:
horrible rap songs
getting high (these niggas don't stop at weed)
constantly talking about money
a lot of fake jewelry
pointless bragging
bad hair cuts (especially Lil Boosie's fade)
Look at these video clips and tell me if I'm wrong

Reverse payolla WTF

It was bad enough some DJ's were secretly charging artist to play records now the labels wanna charge the stations. These idiots at record labels are having a hard enough time selling bullshit albums and now they are willing to get a bill passed that could put stations out of business. Me personally I listen to online stations because they don't play the wack shit.

R.I.P. Dolla

It's always sad to see a person go at a young age. It's even worse when someone that was just trying to provide for their family is taken away.

Sensitive ass rappers

I will never understand why when someone calls a rapper out for a battle or say that another rapper isn't the best these guys wanna fight. The most recent case of bitch-ass-ness is Method Man. Joe Budden saw that fucked up VIBE list of the top MC's and made his opinion. To be honest I agree with Joe on this. When he saw Method Man's rank he gave him all the props in the world then he said he believe he can take him. What the fuck is wrong with that. Rap is COMPETITIVE. Joe then said if Meth disagrees they can go bar for bar. Meth made himself look ignorant by wanting to fight because Joe basically issued a challenge. My advice for Meth would be to shut the fuck up if he ain't gonna battle. After that last album Meth should chill the fuck out. If they ever battle and Joe gets in his ass (no homo) Meth will be a true bitch if he tried to fight that man for beating him......

The most ignorant shit I've seen all week

People got mad because Asher Roth said that people should give back. When your in position to do it why not. This COON Gucci Mane went and blew his money on fake jewels. Even though he might have spent about $4,000 on all of this bullshit it's just the principal. People have lost jobs and they can't support their families but these ignorant ass rappers (like Gucci Mane) will rap about money and how they are so much better than you (the listener) if you don't have it.

My first press release

Photobucket

Top 5 albums that let me down

5. The Firm- The album
Photobucket
Despite the all-star line up this was a sub-par album. Nas, AZ, Foxy, and Nature was supposed to make a classic with this one.

4. Young Gunz- Brothers from another
Photobucket
After a great rookie album I thought these boys were the next group to kill the game. Jay-Z executive produced this and I only liked one track. After this I have to question Jay-Z's taste in music

3. Consequence- Don't quit your day job
Photobucket
I was bored out of my fucking mind when I sat down and listened to this all the way through for the first time.

2. Method Man- Tical 0
Photobucket
This shit was just wack.

1. Beanie Sigel- The Solution
Photobucket
Solution to what???????

Is LL Cool J really the greatest?

I know it's been a while since the last time I wrote a blog but I been busy as hell. (College courses, studio, physical therapy, etc.) Last week at the barber shop some dude was trying to tell me us young guys don't recognize real hip hop. I was just listening......and listening then I had to cut him off. He said LL Cool J was the greatest ever. At that moment I knew he was stuck in the past. I know LL been around since 85 but he wasn't even the best in the 80's. During that era we had Rakim, Big Daddy Kane, KRS-One, NWA, Slick Rick, and Run-DMC just to name a few. I'm not afraid to be a asshole and say that LL ain't even the best out of that group.
In the 90's a ton of great MC's came into the game. LL did his thing with the ladies and a few battles but do you ever remember him being the top nigga in the game.......NAH I ain't think so. The biggest moments he had during the 90's was when Hey Lover was hot and the battle with Canibus. For the record Canibus won that by a landslide. He did okay selling FUBU and acting but his music wasn't that good to be honest. I bet you can't name every LL album from the 90's. What's crazy about that is he only had 4. If you read his lyrics to yourself your gonna be rolling in the floor laughing or confused trying to figure out what people see in him. He made it cool to rap for the ladies and I can't take that from him. Other than that what has LL Cool J done for you. LL Cool J has been in the game for 24 years and that why some people called him one of the greats. Robert Parish played 21 seasons in the NBA, won 4 championships and nobody gives a fuck because he wasn't one of the best players. If people think that way when they rate athletes why is it any different when it comes to a rapper?
Now since 2000 his career has only gotten worse. His only big records in the last 9 years are "Luv you better" and "Headsprung". Do you remember "Fatty Girl" lol? That is just one of the many wack records he has been a part of since 2000. I will admit that everyone has done a wack track or 2 but come on LL. How do you have a wack decade? When I heard "Rocking with the G.O.A.T" I thought we were gonna see the potential that LL had. When I heard the whole EXIT 13 album I was let down once again. Sub-par beats and weak lyrics ran wild all through the album. Now ask yourself is LL Cool J in your top 10. If not how can he be the greatest...........

Do you really take this guy serious

The record that crushed him
